Vital Stats Page Guide

The Vital Stats Page for any character can be found on his character page in Battle Information, situated under the character picture. Clicking this button will show the page for that character (an example is shown below). This page for each character is paramount when engaged in combat and can even be important in normal role playing situations. It is important that all players understand the information given on this page, and this guide was created for that very purpose. If you have further questions, we encourage you to speak up on the forums or by e-mailing staff@solarisrpg.com.

Primary Vital Statistics (PVS)
This section shows the base PVS, bonus PVS, and total PVS, the character’s level, and information regarding the character’s Allocation Points (AP). The starting values for the base PVS are determined by a character’s race and listed in the Race Guide (the example above shows a Solarian’s base PVS); at no time may any of a character’s base PVS be lower than these values, even when redistributing AP with a perk from the Level Guide or through the Solaris Central Laboratories. The sum of the starting base PVS for any race is 125.

With the knowledge that each character gains 10 AP per level, this page can calculate how many AP a player still has to distribute among his character’s PVS. This value is given next to the titled cell “AP”. Above it, the “Used AP” cell keeps track of how many AP have been allocated thus far. (The example above shows that this level 10 Solarian has yet to spend any of his 100 AP he has earned so far.) It is important to mention that the “AP” cell will fail to mention that you have AP to spend upon a new level if the “Level” cell has not been updated, even if a character’s level has been updated on the Character Page. Therefore, it is important to double check to see if your character’s level has been updated if you believe there to be AP to spend, but it is not obvious on the Vital Stats Page. The H-Level or Hypothetical Level will be updated automatically as you allocate AP.

If you wish to speculate where your character wants to be down the road in order to help determine where to place AP, remember that the sum of the base primary stats for any character should be his current level times 10 (total AP) plus 125 (starting values). For example: the sum of the base primary stats for a level 40 character should be 40 x 10 + 125 = 525.

The “Bonus %” column is the sum of stat bonuses gained through race, job class, and upgrades from the Enchanter Shop. All of these bonuses are additive, meaning that a 20% bonus from race, a 10% bonus from class, and a 30% bonus from the Enchanter Shop would be 20% + 10% + 30% = 60%. The maximum bonus for each PVS is 250%; this cannot be affected. In order to determine the value of the bonus for a PVS, multiply the base PVS by its bonus percentage; this value is already calculated in the “Bonus #” column. The “Total PVS” shows the sum of the base and bonus PVS and is used in the calculation of the SVS, as explained in the Vital Stats Guide.

When using PVS in a role play setting (like comparing STR values during an arm wrestling match), make sure to use the Total PVS value, not its base. On the other hand, when determining whether or not a character can use a specific weapon, armor, or item that has a Base PVS requirement, make sure to use the Base PVS value, not its total.

Statistic Multipliers (SM)
This section keeps track of a character’s User SM and Racial SM. See the Vital Stats Guide for more information regarding how to find these values and how they can change over time. (In the example above, the Solarian has chosen ACC and STR as his specializations and his seven Racial SM are appropriate for his race.)

Secondary Vital Statistics (SVS)
In combat, the SVS will do most of the heavy lifting. Refer to the Vital Statistics Guide for information regarding to how each are used and to the Battle Mechanics Guide to see some of the calculations in action. If a character has a companion, its SVS are also shown here (the example above shows that the character does not have a companion). Companions do not have PVS or SM.

Weapons and Armor (Items)
This section displays that character’s primary and secondary weapon along with his armor. The “Rating” column shows each weapon’s attack rating and the armor’s physical and force defense rating; these can be found in the item information on the character’s profile. Multiplying this percentage by the character’s proficiency will determine its attack or defense values, which are represented in the “Value” column. If the character’s weapon or armor stat is 0% (or he does not have a weapon or armor at all), the value for these will be zero. (In the example above, the Solarian appears to only have a primary weapon, and his armor does not seem to give any force protection.

Offensive Workspaces (OFF)
The physical offensive workspace shows how much damage the character will deal if he connects with a physical blow. The first row represents how much damage he would deal unarmed or with an improvised weapon. The second and third rows represent how much damage he would deal with his primary and secondary weapons, respectively. Note that the secondary weapon damage is hidden as the character’s secondary weapon rating is 0%.

The force offensive workspace shows how much damage the character will deal if he connects with an energy or elemental attack. The “Potency” column shows the potency for the character’s energy and elemental-based attack, which is determined by race and job class. A character’s mind times his energy potency is the base damage of his energy attacks and a character’s spirit times his elemental potency is the base damage of his elemental attacks; these damage amounts are represented in the “Damage” column.

Defensive Workspaces (DEF)
The Character Damage Reductions defensive workspace shows his total defenses and their represented damage reductions. The “Defense” column represents the sum of his body, mind, or spirit with his armor’s physical and force defenses (Physical defense is Body plus armor physical defense; Energy defense is Mind plus armor force defense; Elemental defense is Spirit plus armor force defense). The “D.R.” column represents a character’s Physical, Energy, and Elemental Damage Reductions that can be found in the Battle Mechanics Guide. If a character has a rune of resistance that adds to one of these damage reductions, it will be represented in this column.

The Companion Damage Reduction defensive workspace works in the same way, except since the creature cannot wear armor, the creature’s defenses will simply equal its body, mind, and spirit. While these values are already represented, they are copied here for easy reference.
