The Level Guide

Welcome to the Level Guide of Solaris RPG! This is a list of unlockable perks and common abilities that all characters in Solaris will learn over time. Why do all characters gain these specific abilities? Well, on planet Solaris a powerful race of beings known as the Builders detonated a device in the upper atmosphere long ago.

This device released untold numbers of nanomachines into the upper atmosphere. Over time these nanomachines fell to the world below and began to hyper-evolve all the creatures of the world. The nanomachines enter the body of all living things with the sole purpose of improving them. The common abilities below are the result of the nanomachines and they eventually develop in all beings affected by the nanobots.

Over time every character develops superhuman skills such as the ability to understand all other races (Common Tongue), enhanced agility (Enhanced Agility), the ability to leap great distances (Super Jump), the ability to fly without having wings (Energy Flight), and many others including superhuman speed (Enhanced Speed). All beings in Solaris eventually become super heroes, or villians, in their own right.

The Tower of Power

Level Ability/Perk Ability/Perk Description
1 Common Tongue Regardless of a characters race, this enables all characters to understand one another. This ability is provided by the nanomachines in every living thing.
2 Burst Flare The character's target is struck by a blinding flash of light without warning. His target loses his next turn. Usable once per battle session, so use it wisely.
3 Energy Dash Grants the caster a sudden burst of unexpected speed. This ability temporarily doubles his dodge rating. Usable twice per battle session.
4 Magical Control The character learns to control and manipulate his chosen Magic Type. This allows him to do basic spellcasting with his chosen magic.
5 Custom Ability The character unlocks his first ability slot. This enables the player to create a completely unique custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.
6 Plasmakinesis The character gains the ability to produce and control plasma energy which just so happens to be a byproduct of the nanomachines.
7 Energy Aura Allows the character to produce a mostly cosmetic aura of his chosen magic type. Useful for adding some flare to battles and role-play sessions.
8 Enhanced Agility The character gains superhuman agility, all characters in Solaris eventually achieve a heightened level of agility when moving throughout the world.
9 Variant Class The character is able to choose a variant class of his original class. This typically provides similar, but more focused vital stats.
10 Custom Ability The character unlocks his second ability slot. This enables the player to create a completely unique custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.

12 Companion The character can claim a creature of Solaris as his pet or companion. See the Companion Guide for more information.

14 Enhanced Senses The character gains superhuman sensory abilities such as enhanced sight, smell, and hearing. Eventually, all characters gain these abilities in Solaris.
15 Custom Ability The character unlocks his third ability slot. This enables the player to create a completely unique custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.

17 Profession At this level a character may choose to take on a market profession from any available professions listed on the Market Guide.
18 Enhanced Strength Regardless of race or class the character gains superhuman strength. Boulder in your way? Move it. Metal bar needs bent? Bend it.
19 Super Jump The character gains the ability to leap enormous distances in a single bound. Jump from the ground to the top of a building with ease.
20 Custom Ability The character unlocks his fourth ability slot. This enables the player to create a completely unique custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.

22 Market Shop At this level a character with a profession may choose to open his own shop anywhere in the world. Please see the Market Guide for details.

24 Power Surge The character develops the ability to release a surge of gathered energy in one big blast, dealing 150% magical damage for his next attack once per battle.
25 Custom Ability The character unlocks his final ability slot. This enables the player to create a completely unique custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.
26 Mind Tricks The character gains the ability to persuade another character with less charisma to do whatever he wishes. Perhaps to just piss off and leave him alone.

28 Energy Flight Enables the user to fly without the need for wings or technology. May be used at any time in or out of combat. Handy for traveling long distances quickly.
29 Enhanced Speed The character gains the ability to move incredibly fast. Everyone on planet Solaris eventually winds up capable of moving at a superhuman pace.
30 Ability Upgrade The character gains additional cosmetic and mechanical functions for a previously created custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.
31 Extended Lifespan The aging process slows dramatically as the nanomachines begin to reverse cellular degeneration caused by aging. Extends most lifespans 10x or more.

33 Telepathy The character gains the ability to speak telepathically to others. This is a way to make a session more interesting and also a way for to speak privately.

35 Ability Upgrade The character gains additional cosmetic and mechanical functions for a previously created custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.
36 Telekinesis The character develops the ability to move physical objects with his mind. Intelligence rating is a direct ratio to how many pounds a character can lift.
37 Regeneration The character gains the ability to regenerate missing organs and body parts. Lose a hand during combat? No problem, given enough time it'll grow back.
38 Eye Lasers The character develops the ability to produce powerful beams of energy from his eyes, dealing 125% magical damage in an instant attack once per battle.

40 Ability Upgrade The character gains additional cosmetic and mechanical functions for a previously created custom ability. See the Ability Guide for details.
41 Invulnerability The character can withstand extreme physical abuse while taking less apparent damage. Knocked through a wall or a tree? No problem. HP still applies!
42 Ascension The nanomachines break down the physical body within seconds upon death. The soul is freed and left to wander freely, even communicate with the living.
43 Breathless Regardless of race the character develops the ability to hold his breath for long periods of time. This enables traveling underwater without drowning.

46 Teleportation Regardless of a character's race or class, this ability enables him to teleport himself great distances. This ability is not usable during a battle session.
47 Phasing The character gains the ability to instantly shift from one location to another. This enables an instant 100% dodge rating. Usable three times per battle.

49 Beyond Infinity The character gains the ability to fly beyond the atmosphere of Solaris. Some characters with this ability may travel out into space, even to nearby planets.
